Las Vegas knows how to throw a party, but there is something truly special when our city comes together to throw a party for our heroes and I was one of them. I served in the United States Air Force from 1979 to 1983. For the second time, Allegiant Stadium opened its doors for a historic, high-energy event dedicated entirely to honoring our Veterans, active military and their families. They treated us like royalty once again indeed..

The stadium was packed with patriotism, excitement, and deep community support. From the moment families arrived, the atmosphere was electric. And let’s be honest—any local knows that stadium events can sometimes be a headache, but organizers nailed it this time: the parking was incredibly easy and stress-free!

A Celebration Packed with Perks
This wasn’t just a formal ceremony; it was a massive, family-friendly celebration of service. Attendees were treated to:
Live Music: Popular bands took the stage (including headliners Big & Rich!), filling the stadium with anthems that had everyone on their feet.

Honoring the “Greatest Generation”
While the energy remained high throughout the afternoon, the most powerful and emotional part of the event belonged to a special awards ceremony.

The stadium stood united in applause to honor two remarkable World War II Veterans, both over 100 years old.
“With less than 5% of World War II veterans alive today, having two centenarian heroes on the field was a breathtaking reminder of the courage that kept our world free.”

Seeing these two men recognized on the big screen, surrounded by generations of younger service members and their loved ones, was a moment nobody in attendance will ever forget.

A Growing Tradition
From the easy access and free perks to the unmatched stadium excitement, everyone walked out with a smile. It is clear that this event has become a cornerstone tradition for Southern Nevada—a vibrant, joyful way to say a collective “thank you” to the people who sacrifice the most for our communities.

To everyone who organized, volunteered, and attended: thank you for making it an unforgettable day. We already can’t wait for the next one!
