Producing wedding videos using DJI Osmo Pocket.

JCS Photo-Video Productions of Las Vegas, creates artistic wedding videos for over 30 years with professional high definition and new format standards. With the release of 4K there are several options and camera options. Each caera has positive and negatives, but motion and gimbal with buttery smooth movement has to be paramount. Jack Vosburgh of JCS Photo-Video Products purchased a DJI Osmo Pocket as an affordable gimbal video system.

JCS has been using the DJI Osmo for about a month now on several outdoor events to include: Nelson's Landing, Legends Ranch in Southwest Las Vegas, Foodie Tour on Fremont Street, Tule Springs at Floyd Lamb State Park and the Grove in Northwest Las Vegas, and Red Rock Canyon Overlook. "One of the greatest investments my company has made in the last 5 years," Jack said. It performs remarkably well and is very affordable solution for 4k.

Jack also engineered a new custom aluminum mounting bracket for the DJI Osmo Pocket with cordless Sennheizer avx cordless microphones a custom 3 channel audio mixer and a DJI battery grip with gimbal controller, Maker S and a LED light with lithium battery. The complete eng system is light and less than 5 pounds.

Noticing that the DJI shoots amazing right out of the box it needs a few other improvements depending on lower light or bigger events audio needs like that found in typical indoor and outdoor wedding venues. With a little ingenuity and some internet research of high rated light equipment that mounts to the custom aluminum bracket, Jack found the complete solution that meets the needs of most situations for a highly mobile light eng kit for the Osmo.

Some of the most fun experiences with the Osmo has been shooting on Freemont Street, Container Park, Red Rock Canyon Overlook and Legends Ranch. Anildo and Nychole of Rhode Island were married on Fremont Street at Container Park on 10/10/2020 that was shot entirely on the DJI Osmo Pocket. Being married with over 3,000 others on his birthday, Anildo was impressed with the interaction of Jack with the newly married couple that went to several food and bar locations for the Lips Smacking Foodie Tour. "I really appreciate you taking so much time and interacting with us, You have made this a very relazing and memorable experience." Anildo said. The DJI Osmo was able to video all of the 5 restaurants, bars, and street walking experiences of the tour for over an hour and half. Jack was able to shoot many motion shots with ease and save a ton of extra effort with the less than 5 pound eng rig, Customers would be surprised and were intrigued by the tiny camera, This interactive documentary style shooting gives several behind-the scenes interaction and improve the wedding video.
